Internet Explorer 7 deployment
In October of 2006 Microsoft delivered an update to Internet Explorer (IE), version 7 for Windows XP, that provides much greater security as well as improved support for Internet standards. Following months of testing BSS Computing allowed this update to begin installing on all computers at the end of December. While at first the new interface may be confusing you'll likely find that it is much more efficient. As well, all the features that you used in previous versions of IE are still available along with new capabilities like phishing protection and RSS support.
If you have a need to continue using IE6 please contact our helpdesk at 338-6793. Some of the suggestions we will offer include using the free virtual machine Microsoft offers or a free product from TredoSoft that allow you to use multiple versions of IE.
