How to Access your site though FrontPage / SharePoint Instructions

Microsoft Sharepoint Designer (formerly Front Page) allows faculty to work directly from the web server making it unnecessary to "publish" or "FTP: files. It's a good choice for those that are new to web publishing. A University site license makes it freely available for your University computers. For personal computer installations, the software is available at the SFSU Bookstore for $25.

Logging in to edit a Web site (on/off campus)

Launch Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007

  1. In the File menu (at the top) select Open Site/Web
    Step 1: Open Site
  2. Type in the websites' URL: http://bss.sfsu.edu/folder (where "folder" is your Web site folder, first initial last name)
    Step 2: Web Address
  3. Login and password:
    On-campus: the login/password you use when you start up your
    Off-campus: the login/password you use when you start up your computer, with "BSSNT" preceding your login.
    Step 3: Login
  4. Now you will have access to your web site. You may need to navigate to your Web folder by scrolling down to it and double-clicking it.
